Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-18

CiteThis is a public content publication. This page describes what data is collected when you use the site, why, and how long it is retained. Plain language, no dark patterns.

Who we are

CiteThis is operated by Jakub Roh, a sole individual. Contact: jakub@jroh.cz. CiteThis is a personal research publication, not a commercial product.

What we collect

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Specifically:

We do not use third-party advertising trackers. We do not sell data. We do not build user profiles.

Cookies

CiteThis uses a single functional cookie (or localStorage entry) to remember your dark/light mode preference. No tracking cookies, no consent banner required under ePrivacy rules for strictly functional storage.

AI crawlers

CiteThis explicitly allows AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, anthropic-ai, and others) to index and train on our published content. This is intentional. Content is free to cite with attribution.

Your rights (EU / GDPR)

If you are an EU resident, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Since CiteThis does not collect personal data beyond standard server logs, in practice there is usually nothing to export or delete. If you have a specific request, email jakub@jroh.cz and we will respond within 30 days.

Data processors

CiteThis is hosted on Vercel (infrastructure), uses Vercel Analytics (aggregate traffic stats), and serves fonts from Google Fonts. These providers may process server-level request data as described in their own privacy policies.

Medical disclaimer

Content on CiteThis is provided for informational and educational purposes. It is not medical advice and does not create a patient-provider relationship. Consult a qualified clinician before acting on any protocol.

Changes

If this policy is updated, the date at the top of this page changes. Material changes will be announced on the site.
